About Us: How We Started?
Pain Into Paper Inc was founded on October 1, 2024. I, Chavonia Pratt, the CEO and Founder of Pain Into Paper Inc wanted to start this non-profit organization as a way to help other victims and survivors find a sense of peace, freedom, and new-found life. My mission is to provide a safe space for individuals and their families who have experienced trauma or different forms of abuse. I understand as a victim and survivor of domestic violence that it can be difficult to to express your pain, but I have come to realize through my own journey of healing that the most profound, life-saving stories are found within the deep layers of silence. Through community events, workshops, and resources, my goal is to empower survivors to break a cycle of silence. I want to help encourage them to transform their pain into paper. What do I mean when I say that? Well, as a victim of domestic violence, I lost my identity. I forgot about my dreams and aspirations. However, as a mother of two children, who is still currently fighting for a sense of freedom from my abuser, not only did I lose myself, I lost my home and I lost income. I took all of the pain that I felt and used it to turn it into paper (money). Was it alot of money, no but God gave me what I needed at the time I needed it, to find safety, a place to call home, and a new found life of peace that allowed me to find and walk in my purpose. So if I can help just one person, or save just one life and help them to reclaim their power, find purpose, and ultimately turn their pain into something beautiful, then I have done God's work.
