Pain + Paper = Purpose

The phrase "Turn your pain into paper" is an affirmation I started using when I got out of my abusive relationship.  I was so angry!  I had to pray and ask god for forgiveness because I knew that the anger I had in my heart was so deep that if I acted on it, I would have went down a dark road of self-destruction.  I had to turn that pain into something positive.  The term "paper" doesn't always equate to money.  Paper could be resources for legal services, counseling, educational purposes, and etc.  The goal is to help individuals find a sense of self and new found freedom after experiencing the mental, physical, and emotional challenges that victims and survivors go through after being in abusive relationships or situations.

Affirmations to help you move forward:

  1. I am not what happened to me.  I am what I choose to become.
  2. My strength is greather than any fear that I carry.
  3. I am reclaiming my life, one courageous step at a time.
  4. I am worthy of love, safety, and respect.
  5. My past does not limit my future.
  6. I am rebuilding a life that reflects my worth.
  7. I am free to dream and I am free to succeed.
